Fitness Tips for the Bride

  • Remember that if you want to lose weight, don’t leave it till the last minute.  For example, don’t try to lose 30 pounds in just two months before the wedding.  It is important to plan ahead so that you achieve your weight loss (or just tone up) gradually.
  • Be realistic.  If you have never been a size 6, then don’t think you can magically transform yourself just because you are getting married.  Set attainable goals.  Its best to under estimate and over deliver than to over estimate and under deliver.
  • Brides typically tend to be short time and have a lot of organizing to do.  This can then lead to unhealthy diets and difficult training programs.  Don’t get fooled to undertake a diet that promises drastic results with zero effort.
  • Brides can easily come up with excuses indicating that they don’t have time to exercise or too tired.  Diets and exercise do always go hand in hand.  Without physical activity, your body can’t burn as many calories. If you are very short on time, try to exercise in small 10-minute bursts throughout the day.
  • Remember, little things do help reach your overall goal.  Remember to take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator, walk to the shops rather than driving, etc.
  • Eat many small meals throughout the day instead of fewer and larger meals.  To avoid eating junk food, it is worth packing fruit and light snacks to keep you going throughout the day.
